Good guests/humour/discussion as usual I second the Cave Story recommendation, it's a phenomenal game (indie or otherwise) that I'd honestly probably put in my top ten of all time. Anyone who has any sort of appreciation for sidescrollers must check it out. It's only about six hours long too, so it's not too much of a commitment, heh. The only thing is it's one of those games where figuring out which version to play is a challenge in itself; I still can't help but hold a fondness for the original freeware version (partly because I think it has a better translation than the ports to Steam/WiiWare/etc.). I'm not sure the 3DS version would be the best way to experience it first time, but then again I haven't picked it up (yet!) and the word is that it's a very good remake. Do bear in mind it doesn't actually contain the original version as stated, it just has a mode where you can replace all the 3D character models with the original sprites. It was a hyper-solid game, but I would have never dreamed it would be such a big deal today. I wish I had held on to it lol
