I think we should have a "biography" section with pictures for members to be able to learn more about the people behind the forum. The Forms are almost 3 years old now and there is a lot of regulars on here I still dont know much about. The section could include pictures of the person, there collections and other stuff important to them. It could also have short BIOS about how and when they began gaming and such. It could be set up as its own section with sub forms for gurus and mods as well as a general section for all members. What do you guys think about this idea? |

I like this idea. There are a few people on the forum that I've gotten to know on Facebook and Twitter, but not everyone is comfortable having people they don't know accessing that. A biography section would be a good way for us to get to know each other better on the forum. Let's run with this. I'm also down with helping to set it up if required. |

I'm down with it but it kinda be a pain to organize it unless you had multiple pages like a list of all the users then click the name and it goes to another page or a light box but then updating it is a pain unless some one knows how to have it editable by the user in the Preferences which i assume someone does. |

All we would need is a Biography section with sections in it labeled like Mods, Gurus, Founding Members, and Members. then you could just make a thread for yourself under whatever category you fit in. There could even be a thread template made and pinned that you could use to make your thread. I dont think it would be too hard to make and it would let you know a lot more about people on here. Browland1 said he would help with it and I would be willing to help as well so all we really need is for Pete to create the section on the forums and we can start on it. |

I personally think it would be best to put it in the profiles but what if its more prominently displayed much like a sig but not creates ease of access to it with out having to search or even go to the profile at all. maybe put it in place or with the posts group member and joined info in a rollover item

I totally agree with everything that everyone is saying on here. I think that new members should be greeted and get to be known by already existing members of the forum. I try to message all new members I see to make them feel more comfortable posting and sharing their ideas/opinions on games. I encourage everyone who reads this to go out and help those new members and pre-existing ones. This forum is great. Keep it up everyone that helps to make this forum my favorite gaming forum so far! |
