Hey Guys Marmul Here, This will be my first check in on the 5 game suicide run. I will post here every week on my progress throughout the year. To make sure that I don't buy more than 5 games I have Raptr attached to all things possible and anything I do buy will be progressed on there. This challenge is easy. Just find a game that has a competitive scene and play that for most of the time, that way you'll really only really need like four games at the most. |

I've already failed this challenge within a week. Granted I bought an handful retro and last gen games, and I only spent a mere $30 or so, but this would definitely be a difficult challenge for me. Especially with the lineup of games for the next few months. Good luck, man. |

Yeah but that's the thing, I'm not really fond of the COD things after a while I get bored. Cause it's the same thing over and over. However the multiplayer that forces players to work together like bulletstorm or assassins creed is probably the closest I got. |

Yeah I do like the retro games ( mainly genesis and game gear) but im going to have to wait on them and hope or the best... I mean if I find three really good retro games 1. You guys would hea about it and 2. There goes the large chunk of my allowance in one day. |

I think the appeal us about self restraint... I mean being restricted by your parents is one thing but when you have free roam and you have so much temptation. I guess it's just something to do to test yourself. |

Ok guys first week update. Ive been tempted to play some Madden since its football season and even though i have it on the PS2...its the acheivements that are tempting me to get it on the xbox. Also finding out there is more DLC for Bulletstorm and that there is the DLC left for the LA Niore that i hae to get...yeah I'm kinda addicted to achievements... i don't know what it is. Hey guys, Marmul here. So this is the second week in my 5 game suicide run. It seems like my drive for me to complete games (the achievements) are dwindling, out of the 9 games I have to last me (excluding the XBLA ones) I have already racked it down to 10 achievements on LA Noire (all that are DLC i don't have) and I have about 5 left on Dead Island, which I can get with some effort. The game that I hope lasts the longest is Red Dead Redemption, however I haven't put any real attention into it, so hopefully it can hold up. I've dived into Pokemon Black which I've had for a while which will hold me up for a bit since i keep getting beat by the elite four and since i also have Pokemon White, which came with my DSi a while back, I can go for the ultimate challenge and buy all the chimpokomon and defeat the ultimate power which will reveal itself once all the chimpokomon are collected and become a chimpokomon champion OHHH ^__^ Well that is the week 2 of my challenge which I walk alone. Ill be back next week with another update, you can always follow my daily progress as it happens on the twitter stated above. Would be cool to have people other than the generic twitter hoggers like real estate agents and businesses follow me cause I'm sure they don't care what I'm doing and wont provide any support. Hey Guys. Sorry its been a while since I put up some updates, so here is an update for the last couple of weeks. Week Three: I have three or four acheivements left on Dead Island, one of them being reach level 50. Well with my guy being at level 41 it seemed to be a smooth sailing to the acheivement, well not when the file then refuses to load. After some investigating on the web to see what the hell is going on, it turns out there is an "invisible" inventory cap which will corrupt the game if you exceed it. Well I packed myself with enough scrap metal and bleech to ensure I will never be short of ammo in any situation. This just made me think that this game was built to screw over people who want to be prepared...what very poor game design i thought. This caused me to play my DS more and make my way through the Pokedex on Pokemon Black in order for me to catch them all. When it came to using the XBOX not for Netflix I decided to go with Red Dead Redemption, going online proved to be a bit of a mistake just because when your trying to mind your own buisness, your more than likely to get a bullet in the ass for no apparent reason. So back to the single player I went cause it was getting REALLY old trying to find some treasure and keep getting shot for no reason. Week Four: Well I didnt get to play much because of RL but I did however manege to throw in Dead Island just for kicks and giggles, and I get met with an update. It told me they had fixed the level of the enemies so that they would be the level of which ever game you jumped into and asked me if i wanted to continue. I thought nothing of it and carried on. Even though my level 41 I knew was currupt I tried to lioad it anyway...and by god it loaded! After it loaded I offloaded anything I wasnt going to use and kept the important stuff. Going out into the island of Benoi i noticed that some gameplay things had changed. The kick move which knocked zombies over and could potentaly kill them (and didnt use staminia mind you) all of a sudden it started to drain my stamina bar and the zombies hit a lot harder than usual. I thought to myself did they actually attempt to make this game harder? Well played Tech Silver well played... still doesnt change my opinion on the game though. I beleive with all the new games coming out I may have to get one before Christmas but the question is which one will take one space in my 5 game list? Played Arkam Asylem and loved it but will I be satisfied with Arkem City? I love the Modern Warfare story mode but will it hold long enough or will i be forced to grind my way through Rank up and T-bags in order to get worth while time? Skyrim...never played any Elder Scrolls game, will I enjoy it? What is it compared to that would help me underastand it more? Loved Assassins Creed so would relevations be a good choice. Hey guys, Marmul here! Here us another update for those who do not follow my twitter. Week 5: I traded in Dead Island to get some credit towards my next buy, which I feel is becoming more and more immenent! I seem to be fighting between Assassins Creed, Batman Arkem City and COD MW 3. Although the nice girl at GameStop ( don't blast me I trust them pretty well) said that Skyrim was a good game to get after I explained my challenge. (she thought it was suicide too) Love to hear some feedback! Till then Marmul Out! |

I've never played any of the elder scrolls games so I can't really tell you about it. But, from what I have heard from everyone else this is probably the best selection you could make. A game that has hundreds of hours of gameplay would be perfect for your challenge.

Hey guys, Marmul here! Week six: so buying Arkem city was a good idea. It took me a while to get back into the controls ( but not very long. Didn't help I was playing assassins creed the night before) but it was taking me a while to get around. And so many side missions that I am just a sucker for. When it comes to side missions I will do every single one before actually doing the main missions. Example; Main mission: kill big nasty monster in epic battle, Side quest: go pick daisys. By god those daisys need to watch out I'm coming to pick them!!! But yeah the Arkem city is definatly going to take some BIG time and several hours will waste away every time I am able to play it. Once all the trophys are mine then I can move on to the next game! You can follow my progress on my twitter on a day to day basis. I may actually do a bit of a contest for those who are following. Hey guys, Marmul here! Week seven: So buying Arkhem City was the best move because there is SO much to be done on that game. So many Riddler clues which i am currently chasing. I got passed the Joker and now currently playing as Catwoman. The way the game changes from one character to the other is awesome. There is so many side missions that will take some time because they arent all pin point objectives, a lot of them have areas that you have to look around in order to find your objective. Ive also been playing my iOS games which included Ace Attorney, Shining Force and Chu Chu rocket that i played this week. Im on the last case of Ace Attorney and had stopped playing it for a while but going back to it i understand why i couldnt put it down for a week straight, and also why i had put it down...it DRAINS the iphone battery. Playing Shining Force i visit the time i had it on the GBA and the emulator on the computer. Absolutly love that game and probably my favorite game of all time or at least one of them. I loved playing Chu Chu rocket on the dreamcast so when it was on sale back in March I snagged it up...just hadnt touched it till now. Game cravings right now are not bothering me all that much now, thanks to Arkhem City. Its just itching me now that I could have LA Noire in my 100% list just with the perchase of the DLC...but that wouldnt last long and wouldnt be a wise choice for my 5 game list...well 4 now. Ill post another update for week 8. Till Then Marmul Out! |
