LINK This week we are joined by Josh "GamezOfWar" to discuss some more obscure and less talked about games especially during his GWBPR segment. 80's cartoons and nostalgia are also brought up for a quite lengthy discussion! John said 53. |

Great episode guys! John, they have a D2K cab at Funspot. Its just an expansion onto the existing Donkey Kong hardware. You can actually get it for your DK machine. I need to get one myself. It has a high score save kit with it as well. http://www.arcadeshop.com/konghs_dk2/kongmultikit.htm |

Thanks for answering one of my questions. I'm pretty sure that I submitted my questions a day or two apart, and I assumed that you guys got so many that the two would be spread apart a bit. I was listening to the podcast at work, and I was really surprised at first when I started to hear my own voice through my headphones. Haha. Here's a photo of what that Jumanji game looks like, by the way: ![]() I still play it every once in a while, and - believe it or not - it's actually one of my all-time favorite games. I could never find another game like it, personally. Let me know if you ever get your hands on one of these, especially if it's not sealed or complete (since the game play can be very confusing without a manual). Also, to clarify what I meant by "rudimentary RPG party system" in my description of the game, I actually just meant that the game had a party system similar to what you'd find in an RPG, not in terms of stats and whatnot. The game actually becomes more difficult as you gain party members, interestingly, as you need to match multiple dice to defeat enemies. (It's a very fast-paced game for a dice-based game.) By the way, Jason's trivia was probably the funniest part of the podcast for me. When he said that the answer was 109, I fucking lost it. I was literally in tears from laughing so hard, because I had no clue why he came to such a conclusion. Edited by kevinski, Sep 29 2011, 06:35 PM.

GamesofWar talked about some games I haven't visited in a long time. The Sega CD system was a big deal when it was announced. What sold most of us back then more than the CD quality audio and FMV was the scaling and rotation ability of the system. The screens shots of the Sega logo strecthing and rotating was one hell of a tech-demo for it's time.(the main thing that made it better than its rival, NEC) I used to dream of all the cool games the machine could do....but we all know how that turned out. Still some gems on the machine for sure. |

ThisOldGame is only printing inkjet versions which are still pretty good. The first run actually had plexi printed marquees, bezels, and CPOs. 150 seems a little steep IMO http://www.thisoldgame.com/products/d2k-inkjet-full-art-package Edited by jumblejunkie, Sep 30 2011, 01:00 PM.

Did the price of bomberman just jump in the last month or so?? I managed to get a saturn, 2 controllers with 12 games (inc non-boxed, with manual bomberman) for £30 (about $45). When I was looking on ebay a month or 2 ago, bomberman was quite common and not high priced now it's all Japanesse imports...damn I want that multitap. |

I'm listening to the podcast now and I am getting warm nostalgic vibes from all the talk about Saturday morning cartoons, as well as the toys and prizes given away in cereal boxes. I remember the those two experiences being integral to my Saturday mornings back in the 80's. It's funny, but they don't do many giveaways in cereal anymore. I remember opening the box and reaching right down in there until I got the toy. Capn' Crunch, Corn Pops and Froot Loops were my staples. Good times. Anyway, the podcast was great as always. I like it when you guys go off-topic and it turns into a lively discussion. Awesome guest as well - I definitely need to check out his Youtube channel

Remember when all of your cereal boxes were all misshappen and bulging out in the cupboard, because of your grubby little hands searching for your toy as soon as the box was opened? Of course your parents always knew why the cereal boxes looked the way that they did too! |

Alas Eric, it is true. We had a rule in my house that you couldn't open a new box of cereal until the old one was finished, but come on, there was as toy in there and I wanted it! My misshaped cereal boxes were a constant irritation to me parents, but that never stopped me
