I am pretty surprised that I haven't seen a topic about this yet, the cancellation of Megaman Legends 3. Now I am a huge fan of the Legends series, probably over the others. Why is this? Well I am personally a huge fan of RPGs and Adventure games that allow you to thoroughly explore your environment, and just really find everything that is littered throughout the game. It's great fun and the MM Legends series provided me with this, these games had pretty sizable worlds that were just plain fun to explore and find new items and enemies. Plus it had some great storytelling, granted the voice acting for today's standards are corny but it had a charm that was undeniable. When 3 was announced, I was ecstatic. Sure Megaman 9 and 10 were good enough on their own, but a new Legends game?! It felt too good to be true, and sadly it was. Due to a lack of any drive to continue, the head developer of the game decided to cancel the game meaning we may never see the blue bomber's third Legend's game ever. Just thinking about that is pretty saddening, which is why I am part of that movement group "100,000 Strong" in hopes that maybe they can get the attention of capcom and showing them that they still have a fanbase for Megaman. Anyway what do you guys think of this turn of events? Do you think maybe Capcom is just doing this to test their fans loyalties or do you think they really do believe that the MM fanbase is dying? Whatever the case may be, this is definitely not a good sign seeing that this is the 2nd Megaman game in a row to be cancelled, right after Universe. |

I was devastated by the cancellation. Having spoken to some of the insiders during PAX (yes, I stopped by the booth, but refused to play *any* of the games they brought), 100,000 still wouldn't be enough to get the game re-started. We would need closer to 500 - 750 thousand to get real attention. The game has a chance to continue, but we really need to show CAPCOM that we WANT our LEGENDS 3! Come on folks, lets get in there and fight for what's ours. |

Did you happen to order the MegaMan 3DS case from Capcom? I knew you wanted one, but I also know you have stated you will not support Capcom with your money. Edited by flamingsatchel, Sep 1 2011, 12:54 PM.

I wouldn't be too sure about that, 100,000 seems like more than enough to get Cap's attention. I mean look at Operation Rainfall, over 60,000 people are in on it and already big name magazines like Gameinformer or websites like IGN are on board and supporting it, cornering Nintendo. I am under the impression that Capcom is testing us, maybe since Inafune left they have been at a loss on what to do with the series. They are probably testing the fanbase to see if they are still dedicated despite the absence of the renown creator. It is pretty far fetched, but not impossible. Still a lot more does need to be done than just make a group about it on Facebook. They should get in touch with groups like Capcom Unity or something to get their word out to the public eye as well as Capcom themselves. Edited by Omega_Rugal, Sep 2 2011, 06:35 PM.
