LINK This week we are joined by John "MAMECADE" to discuss topics such as Pinball Machines, Arcades, and iPads?! Thanks for taking my question, Pete! I remember you speaking highly of Mushroom Men in a video at some point, but I didn't realize it belonged to that genre. I'll be sure to pick it up sometime soon. Always fun to hear people try to pronounce my name. The way I do it is Hi(short i)-car(like the vehicle)-g; Hicarg. But it's all good. |

the reason gamestop takes the games out and this is just my theory is to keep people from stealing the games basically it's the same shit rental stores like block buster did. |

oh and Pete, Destroy all Monsters (as well as the black sheep of the series Godzilla vs. Megalon) is coming to Blu ray and DVD due out the same day as Battlefield 3 October 25th. |

Mamecade has a great channel. Glad to see more arcade love on YouTube! Didn't know he was so into pinball either! I've seen fair dragon's lair arcade cabs go for 1000-1500. Funspot has 1 and 2 which is awesome! Have fun at PAX guys. Wish I could of made the trip, but I had to pull out last min because of money reasons. I look forward to the next episode of AGG and the videos to follow! |

Excatly. But that doesn't allow them to sell the opened games as new. I had an electronics store near me that used to do that same thing and they had the same excuse: to prevent stealing. They should just buy these metal thing-a-majigs that you can spin around and look at games, but can't open unless you have a key(hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about). But that costs money and no one really likes paying for stuff... On another note, hopefully Johnny gets well soon.  Also, someone SHOULD name their daughter Dragons Lair.

imo they should just go the old Toys r' Us route and have just paper cards with the games labeled on them and the actual game sealed in case behind the counter or in the back. |

Oh man, my fiancée is a huge Star Wars fan and she's been talking non-stop about the Kinect bundle. I wish so much that I could afford to get it for her  Loving the pinball talk also, I'm a big pinball nerd. Would love to own a machine, specifically the Addams Family one. I spent so much money on that machine as a kid. Crazy that Tina Fey did some voices for Medieval Madness by the way, that's one of my favourite pinball machines and I love Tina Fey

As always a great episode. Gamester reminded me of some software I came across called Boxer. Its Mac only but its (supposedly) a simpler way of getting DOS games to work without the need of configurations and such. http://boxerapp.com/ |

I never understood how people let Gamestop get away with their shady business practices. If you went into any other store, like Best Buy or Target, they can't sell their merchandise -- not just video games, but any merchandise -- opened and still call it new. Why do gamers put up with this when they don't have to? Is it that hard to take your business elsewhere? You could at least file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org). I don't see why game retailers don't go back to doing what Toys R Us used to do in the 90s. They would have a display case out with a pouch of tickets. If you wanted to buy the game, you took a ticket to the counter, gave them your money, and got a nice, factory sealed copy of the game. It was easy, safe from shoplifters, and didn't require opening sealed goods. It's not rocket science. |

Gamester81, playing old DOS games on a Mac is very simple. Download a free application called BoxerApp. It's an amazing mix of DOSBOX functionality with full Apple-like ease of use. For 99% of the games you want to play, you simple drag the CD or .iso into the App in OSX and it auto configures the Config.sys and autoexec.bat, as well as the Soundblaster settings and more. It's excellent! |

This was a great episode, I was on a flight when Gamester guessed that mamecade's daughter was named "Dragon's Lair" I laughed so suddenly that the stewardess looked at me funny. |

Pinball has a character all its own, my favorite was F-14 Tomcat. Oh yeah, Dragons Lair was .50 cents back in my arcades. I loved to watch the game than play it. |
