I remeber how we thought we were sooo bad because we played ssbm all night. I also remember eternal darkness and wetting my pants while watching it (I was even 11 haha). I never noticed anyone getting ridiculed for owning it I actually think no one owned a ps2 rather a gamecube or xbox.

I remember buying a CIB GameCube used in 2002 from the FuncoLand store I worked at. Back then they allowed the employee discount on used hardware, so I recall getting it for something along the lines of $80-ish, which was a great deal then. I had just enough money for one used game, and that was Extreme-G III. I recall it raining absurdly hard that night, which made the trip to get it all the more interesting. It was worth it though, and XGIII blew me away when I played it. Next to F-Zero GX, it was one of my most-played Game Cube games over the years.

Surprisingly, I didn't play many of the "AAA/heavy hitters" on the system. I had all the three major platforms at the time (PS2, XBOX, GC), not to mention I continued to play nearly every console prior so it was tough to keep up with the latest games. I ended up using the system mostly as a Game Boy player (thanks to the awesome attachment), and I DID play a lot of GBA stuff during the years the system was still relavant. I also remember having the Game Cube modded at one point specifically to play a few Japanese titles early, like Soul Calibur II and Ikaruga. As far as some GC games that really stood out to me that I clocked a lot of time with: F-Zero GX and Resident Evil 4. Both were amazing for the time, and still hold up great today in my opinion.

I remember when I sold half of my ps2 games and various other gaming things just to buy a gamecube with 4 controllers, a memory card, and super smash bros melee at a pawn shop. Best thing I ever did with my life.

Eternal Darkness, playing it and thinking; "Nintendo has this on it's console? This is Nintendo allowing this?" Loved that game dearly. Also Windwaker, I remember being hated on for playing it by Halo Xbox fanboys at the time. "kiddie games" "celda" and all that nonsense.

Mine BY FAR is both playing SSBM (Prob put 500+ hours into that one) and the gameboy player for the gamecube. I loved being able to play all of my gameboy/gameboycolor/gba games on the big screen!

I'll easily remember the Gamecube by Melee alone. I seriously put well over 700 hours into (well not my version, but a combination of mine/others copy.)

Also Sonic Adventure 2 Battle brings some of my favourite moments from the Gamecube, oh the many hours spent on raising/beating up on Chaos.

Oh my Gamecube. I got it at Software Etc. I also was able to get 2 free games with it. Phantasy Star Online, which was my favorite GC game at the time, and Resident Evil 0. Tis was a good day! :D
