XSEED Games is offering a special promo this week for Ys I & II Chronicles

From XSEED:
Hey Ys fans (and RPG connoisseurs),

In case you hadn’t heard, we announced that all launch units of Ys I & II Chronicles will be the special “Hair Metal Pack” which includes a bonus soundtrack CD within a larger foil box at the same $29.99 price. This should give everyone a taste of what some of our earlier Limited Edition (LE) versions of Ys were like, and because we love you all and want to spread the Ys love around, we're offering a special limited bonus offer if you pre-order Ys I&II Chronicles from GameStop this week from 1/7/11-1/14/11! You'll get your choice of ONE of the following three items:

1) Ys Artbook

or

2) Ys SEVEN soundtrack CD

or

3) Ys: The Oath in Felghana soundtrack CD

How to Collect Your Bonus:

1) Pre-order! http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=84323

2) E-mail a copy of your pre-order receipt from GameStop dated from 1/7/11 to 1/14/11 to support@xseedgames.com and include your mailing address and the item of your choice in the body of the e-mail – it’s that easy.

As if this wasn’t enough to get everyone LE crazy, GameStop is holding a special promotion starting today where the LE versions of Ys SEVEN and Ys: The Oath in Felghana will sell for the same $29.99 price as the regular versions, but this offer only runs for a limited time so be sure to go pick up a copy quick if you missed out on the LE goodness earlier.

Cheers!

-XSEED

Curse you SplatterTrigger. I wanted to be the only one who had a "Ys vs. Sora No Kiseki" review on YouTube. :( :( :(

Oh well. I guess having two wouldn't hurt. Regardless, I actually started playing the Ys games because I saw the review on Classic Game Room. But then I heard about "Ys vs Sora no Kiseki" and decided to get Trails in the Sky as well. That's actually the only reason why I started playing both games but I really enjoyed Ys Seven so much that it got me intersted in in getting Oath in Felghana. Trails in the Sky is also pretty cool but not as much as I hoped though. Maybe is because I'm stuck looking for the reporters. :ermm:

Regardless these games are awesome. Even if you ever played an Ys game, Ys Seven is magnificent. I hope XSeed brings more great games like these from Falcom.

EDIT: Well I feel foolish. That video was made almost a year ago. :$ I'm still going to do one anyways. :D

Over the course of the last months (of both inactivity at PGRF and vacation) I have been able to delve into the Ys series. It has grabbed me by the balls and hasn't let go.

Played through Ys I and II Chronicles. Fantastic gameplay for sure, difficult but very rewarding once you progress. Soundtracks are absolutely awesome.

After I & II I moved onwards to the fantastic Oath in Felghana, loved the gameplay differences and is my favorite so far. I have yet to delve into Ys Seven and I will save that one for later this year. But WOW what a series!

Trails in the Sky was my first Falcom experience BTW and it was great! With Catherine my favorite 2011 games as of now!
