I've been interested in the Atari Lynx for a bit, but to be honest, I have no clue of anything about it! Were there any standout or exclusive games for the atari lynx that makes the system worth owning? Please help me out

The Lynx was definitly ahead of its time. It was the first portale console in color. I had one when I was younger. Real young. LOL. It was pretty cool. Only problems were it took up a lot of batteries, and it was kinda bulky. If you find a lynx that comes with some games, for about 20-40 bucks, I say go for it. |

By what I say the Atari Lynx looks like a great console that is worth buying. Not only was it the first handheld in color it was the first handheld to feature connection to other Lynx's so you could go play with others. It was extremely advanced for its time. There was some problems with the Lynx though. It was very bulky and it took up batteries. You would be lucky to play for over four hours. You can get a power pack so that you can have six extra hours of gaming. The cool part is that the Lynx still produces games from an independent company called Songbird Productions. They produce Lynx games completely independently without any help from Atari. It shows you how dedicated the Lynx's fans are. If you can get one buy it; you will probably love it. If you buy it and don't like it sell it on eBay; it will sell fast. |

I'm not a collector by any means so I wouldn't care if it's scratched and not with the box, so I want the cheapest price possible However, what I'm mainly looking for is: were there any exclusive lynx games that were awesome? On a side note, I picked up Kung Food and Tournament Cyberball (I think), both in box for the lynx, $2 each. No system yet lol |

Also, if you get a lynx, I reccommend getting an AC Adaptor for it, so you won't have to get yourself bank rupt on buying the batteries...LOL. |

Best to check out some screenshots yourself and see what you may be into. Personally, IMO, it has a lot of good action games and arcade ports. Here's a link to the AtariAge rarity list. The majority of the games on this list will have box scans and a handful of screenshots for each as well. It's a good starting place to figure out if you may be interested in the system or not: http://www.atariage.com/software_list.html?SystemID=LYNX |

I definetly think it's a good investment. Like everyone before me has said, it does eat a lot of batteries, but a power packis available. I would recomment getting a model 2 if you do decide to get one. As for games, many of them are arcade games that can also be found on the Atari 7800 so if you're into that sort of game, it can be the system for you. Please keep in mind this system is bulky so it's not super great for taking on the go nowadays (although if I ever do see one sporting one on the street I'm gonna give them props lol). |
