I plan on getting a PSP for the remake of Persona and other games like Crisis Core, but I don't know which version to get. Are there really any huge differences between the 1000, 2000, and 3000? Just curious.

i have the 2000 and have had pretty good luck, I have heard the 3000 has problems with the screens, and that a lot of lines show up in the screen. have never played a 1000 so i cant comment on that one

I have a 2000, and bought what people were complaining about in the 3000 model. but after awhile I noticed the complaints are more due to the fact that Sony promised that the 3000 wasn't going to come along anytime soon (or something along that line). This annoyed alot of people who decided to buy a 2000 not too long prior to the 3000's release.

What people complain about in the 3000 are scanlines, which are only noticeable if you really do pay attention to the screen. Aside from that, the 3000 is better than the 2000 when playing in a light outdoor area since the screen doesn't reflect the light. Also, there are additional features on the 3000 such as plugging the PSP to the T.V. so you play it like an actual gaming hardware.

Overall, only buy the 2000 if you see a color which fancies you more. I, myself, love my God of War red edition PSP. Some might prefer the blue Madden PSP. It all depends on what you're looking for and style with.

Thanks. I really do like the GOW PSP. I'm probably getting that.

I have the 3000 and i can't really notice any scan lines and the screen is really good for playing outside, plus the built in mic is a great bonus

I have a 2000, I bought mine Right before the GOW one came out, I was pissed. But the 2000 is nice, VERY light compared to the 1000. If you hold a 1000, and then start playing a 2000, You'll think the 2000 is fake.

What do you guys think? Should i sell my PSP. I don't Really use it and i only have 4 games on it. And when i do use it its for Music. So i'm thinking of selling it at GameStop. And buying a Xbox 360.

You just sold off your xbox to get a ps3, you should have just sent it to MS to fix! :P
I rarely use my psp, but I keep it around on the basis of "what if" Dissidia or what not is coming out for it so I'm excited for that game.
I would look at the upcoming library for the PSP and see if there is anything you are interested in, if not, than give it a trade in.
I find it that it's a system that you either use a lot, or you can go a full year and not touch it once.
Besides they run not bad on price, you can find good deals online, or get a traded in model at gamestop, most people trade em in not because they are defected but because they get bored of it and what to trade it for something else.

I want a PSP for portable gaming, but I think I'm going to get an iPod touch instead, tons of games for free and music, and then use my 30gig Video for movies. I'll probably get a PSP Go when the price is a lot lower.

Well the 1000 is the worst; it is the bulkiest, heaviest, and dimmest of the three, it has less features, and the guality of movies and such is pretty blurry.
So you should get either the 2000 or 3000. I suggest just picking the most apealing value pack(god of war, daxter, rock band) to you. If you don't care about that, then it comes down to preference. All of the photos and videos on the 2000 have kind of a yellowish tint, while the 3000 is more crisp. The 3000's screen is brighter, and it has more color, but the psp doesn't handle all that so well. It causes a ghosting effect(imges not leave the screen fast enough) and scan lines(a grid that can appear onscrene).
If you choose 2000, you'll have to buy online though, sony doesn't make them anymore.

I think I'll get a 3000 or a 1000, I hear the 1000 feels more sturdy and not as cheap, plus I kind of like the bulkiness to it.

Does the wireless work on yours? Mine doesn't and I want to know if something is wrong before my warranty runs out.

I think I may be picking up the Rockband bundle. It seems to be the best deal by far for new PSP owners.

I agree, pick up the rockband bundle or wait for the PSP Go

those are realistically your only 2 options that are worth it
