Gamecube was a blast for me, I think it really had quite a few good titles. I'm not saying it was better than PS2, but I think it gets overshadowed by PS2 so much that people think it was a junk system. I loved the Gamecube, I found plenty of games that were a lot of fun, not just kids games like the PS2 fan boys always claimed! Just looking for what everyone else thought of it?Thanks, -Cody |

Yes, the Gamecube had it's fair share of very good exclusives. However, much like the current generation, the Gamecube era is when Nintendo lost the majority of it's 3rd party support (I would say most notably Rareware going to Microsoft...under Microsoft's eye Rare couldn't pump out really anything last generation...think of how many unseen games that would have come out if they stayed with Nintendo?), and relied of 1st party exclusives to truck on. It's just that the PS2 completely monopolized the industry last generation pretty much, and stole the spotlight early on with the hype of it's release in October 2000. I would say that were are some multiplatform games that were better on the Gamecube than the PS2 or Xbox. |

It was a really good quality machine too. My main complaint about the Ps2 is that they consistently broke. Then people would buy another one! Explains the real reason for high sales. The controller was a little bit of a mess though IMO. The playsation 1+2 win hands down there. But when it comes to games the gamecube was kind of in a league of it's own. Bright colourful games, ranging from the mario party series all the way to the resident evil remake(which was awesome, i dont care what you say). It's a great little machine. |

i think if nintendo put a DVD player it would have been more succesful. Both of its competitors did and they also had much bigger third party support. I also wanted to see more RPGs on the system. The gamecube didnt really inovate any of thier franchise games with the exception of metroid prime. Mario sunshine and zelda windwaker were solid games but i was disapointed with other lackluster first party games including Star fox assault and mario kart double dash. Although Super smash bros melee was a big exception. |

The gamecube for me was an awesome system, yes it didn't have a dvd player but chances are you already have a pc with dvd player or a stand alone dvd player anyway. I loved the adition of the gba player where you could play gba games on the big screen. I had so much fun with the Advanced Wars, Golden Sun and Zelda games I sometimes forgot about the gamecube games |
|
people say video games are bad for you, they also say rock n roll is bad for you ...... people sure do say stupid things speaking of rock n roll and video games check out my youtube channel where you will find very little of either but a lot of award wining comedy http://www.youtube.com/welcometomydomain | |

Awesome system I actually preferred it to the PS2, it had such class games like luigis mansion, wind waker, mario sunshine, Melee, rouge leader, resident evil remakes and loads more. also a cool looking console i think, and to top it off a contoller that was so comfortable, although the Z button sucked. |

The gamecube brings back awesome memories considering how short ago it was we threw em aside for fancy motion controls. I loved playing animal crossing all afternoon.. lol |

You know you are a gamer when, - Everytime you need to take a pill, you can't help saying, "Waka, Waka, Waka" - Whenever someone complained about a blister, you show them the scar you got from the rafting minigame in Mario Party 1. - You have watched 24 "Let's Plays" and are damn proud of it.

Well I loved the Gamecube it was a kick ass system, but the overshadowing of the Xbox and the PS2 made the Gamecube not get some popular titles it should have gotten |

i might get some Heat for this one, but Gamecube is the worst console I own. A lot of the games were bland and not up to part with games that were on the N64, SNES, or NES. Sure I had a great time with Eternal Darkness and RE4, but man Windwaker made me cry.....WHY SAILING?!?! I won't even get in to it with the Wii. Nintendo is slowly losing me, but they still have me with Zelda. I'd still like a Wii still... Punch Out anyone? |

Aw, I love you guys! Although I agree that the mini disks were a bad idea, I still remember them claiming that they were the thing of the future and movies would all be switched to mini disks....yea, we all know how that turned out. But the system was excellent nonetheless! haha Everyone had that purple one (me included) and then some really cool people would get the black one or whatnot I was so jealous... Thanks, -Cody |

I really liked my Gamecube but then I stopped playing it. I loved Super Smash Bros Melee and I had a bunch of other awesome games for it. Unfortunately I sold it on ebay and got ripped off.

Cube had some REALLY great 3rd party games Killer 7, Billy Hatcher, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Beyond Good & Evil (granted it was on the boxs as well), Eternal Darkness, Ikaruga (if you missed it at the time on the Dreamcast), Alien Hominid (ps2 ver as well), P.N.03, Skies of Arcadia. Just off the top of my head.. I wish the cube didnt fail so hard. But on the plus side people can now get a lot of good games cheap and easy ![]() Edited by Geondp, Jan 27 2009, 07:26 PM.

I don't care what anybody says, I actually loved my Gamecube for the Resident Evil remake alone, nevermind Zero and Resident Evil 4 (even though that did eventually get ported over to the PS2). Then there was The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Skies of Arcadia: Legends, Tales of Symphonia, Super Mario Sunshine, Starfox Adventures, Eternal Darkness and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. Man I could go on for ages!

Oh, the nostalgia is oozing right now! I can feel it in the air! You guys are laying down some great games. I love that many of you chose it over the PS2, I did as well! The PS2 lovers just verbally downgraded the gamecube so much, most of them without even playing it! I actually like the mini disks though, it makes it unique! Just think, they could have been the future! Thanks, -Cody |

Metroid Prime, SSM, and Animal Crossing were the best games for it. I remember always wanting one. |
